My mom used to say I had a face for radio and a voice for newspapers.
Maybe that’s why I gravitated to writing and reporting as I cast about for a profession in my younger years. It suited my appearance to be behind the camera rather than in front of it, and it suited my personality to be the man behind pen instead of the guy being quoted.
But sometimes my job requires me to get out of my comfort zone and get in front of the camera. That’s a long-winded way of saying that Outdoor Life’s Record Quest has a moving-picture component. You can see these short clips every Friday evening on the Versus Channel. Here’s the first one, which sets the table for our year of Record Questing for elk.
You be the judge of whether I should have stayed in print!
